According to El Chiringuito, negotiations over Vinícius Júnior’s new deal at Real Madrid have hit a standstill. The Brazilian star is under contract until 2027, and yesterday saw a meeting between the club’s hierarchy and the player’s representatives.

For now, nothing is moving. The message from Madrid is clear: the conditions for an extension have been set, and if Vinícius accepts them, the relationship will continue. If not, the club will look to cash in on him in the summer.

Vinícius is among Real’s highest earners, though not the very top. He currently earns €20.83 million gross per year, plus €4.17m in bonuses (Capology figures). That puts him on a similar level to David Alaba and Jude Bellingham. Higher packages are collected by Trent Alexander-Arnold, who benefited from his free transfer, and by the untouchable Kylian Mbappé.
