PREMIER - Marc Overmars return to Arsenal amid Newcastle United talks?

Marc Overmars is once again being linked with a return to the Premier League.
But for once, it's not to rejoin Arsenal where he's a hugely popular figure amongst the fanbase having made over 100 appearances across all competitions in the late '90s and was part of the Premier League and FA Cup double-winning squad in the 1997/1998 season.
Instead, he has reportedly opened talks with Newcastle United about joining as a director of football. According to the Mirror, the Dutchman has been in contact with the Magpies following their stunning £305million Saudi Arabian-backed takeover that was completed earlier in the month.
However, compatriot Rafael van der Vaart has backed the 48-year-old to seal a return to Arsenal instead of making the switch to St James' Park.
And based on Overmars' verdict on rejoining his former club back in April, 2017, the ex-Tottenham, Real Madrid and Ajax midfielder just might have a point.
