MLS - San Jose's Chris Wondolowski reaches 400-game milestone
Chris Wondolowski, a forward for the San Jose Earthquakes, played in his 400th regular-season game on Tuesday night, coming in as a late replacement in a 1-1 tie against Minnesota United FC at PayPal Park.
The Quakes great became the sixth player in league history to accomplish the milestone and the fifth on the field. It came just two days after Dax McCarty, a midfielder for Nashville SC, achieved the same feat.
A diverse group of players, both new and old, congratulated San Jose's captain on reaching new heights. During his first tenure with the Earthquakes in 2005, he made his MLS debut.
Wondolowski shared a poignant moment with his father, John Wondolowski, after the game.
