Genoa hunt for new striker as Tolu Arokodare emerges as Wolves option

Genoa continue to work at their training camp in Moena, but the club are also active in the market as they look to complete Daniele De Rossi’s squad.

While the team continue their summer preparations - after the comeback win over Trento and ahead of an internal game before the friendly against Vicenza - there has also been positive news from the treatment room.

Tommaso Baldanzi has resumed work on the pitch with an individual programme after suffering from fatigue, while Junior Messias and Hamed Traoré are following similar paths.

Arokodare on Genoa’s radar
Attack remains the priority for Genoa’s hierarchy. The club are still looking for a striker and continue to assess several options. Among the leading names is Artem Dovbyk of AS Roma, who is considered one of the most significant targets, while the trail leading to Scotland’s Robbie Ure has cooled.

In recent hours, Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has also been offered to the club. The 26-year-old centre-forward is owned by Wolverhampton Wanderers and had recently been linked with Fiorentina, before the Viola decided to use their final non-EU slot on the signing of Christ Inao Oulai.

As for possible departures, Aarón Martín appears to be moving further away from Genoa’s plans. The club triggered the automatic extension of his contract until 2027 to avoid losing him on a free transfer, but the Spanish wide player did not feature in the first friendly and has often been working separately.

Those signs suggest Genoa are waiting for the right offer before allowing him to leave.
