After losing Karim Adeyemi, who is set to join Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund could now face the prospect of another first-team player leaving.

According to English outlet CaughtOffside, Daniel Svensson has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Arsenal.

Both Premier League clubs are looking to strengthen their squad depth and have identified the Sweden left-back as a suitable option. Svensson joined Dortmund from FC Nordsjælland on loan in February 2025 and quickly convinced the club to make the move permanent, with BVB paying €6.5m to the Danish side.

His performances have since increased his market value and, according to reports in Germany, Dortmund would not be willing to listen to offers below €30m - a fee that would guarantee a significant profit.

A sale, however, would create a fresh problem for Dortmund. The only natural left-backs left in the squad would be Ramy Bensebaini and Brazilian prospect Kauã Prates, born in 2009, which would force the club back into the market.

For now, Dortmund’s priorities lie elsewhere: signing an attacking midfielder and a more defensively minded central midfielder.

For the creative role, the German club are now closing in on Konstantinos Karetsas, the Greek talent at Genk. According to Sky Sport DE, Dortmund officials are ready to travel to Belgium in the coming days to try to complete the deal.

If that move goes through, the first piece of Dortmund’s new technical project would be in place, while Svensson’s future may depend on the level of interest from the Premier League.
