Roma see Summerville deal all but fade as Nusa becomes dream target and Moreira remains wildcard
With Crysencio Summerville now looking like a closed chapter, Roma sporting director Tony D’Amico has already restarted the club’s search for an attacking midfielder, with one clear aim: to give Gian Piero Gasperini a top-level reinforcement.
Nusa the dream, Moreira the wildcard
According to Corriere dello Sport, Antonio Nusa remains at the top of Roma’s wish list and is probably the most exciting talent under consideration. The Norwegian winger would represent an even bigger step up than Summerville, but any deal with RB Leipzig is expected to be extremely difficult.
Diego Moreira should not be forgotten either. The Strasbourg wildcard has already been discussed in previous talks and can cover two roles, playing either as a wing-back or as an attacking midfielder on both the right and the left.
The alternatives
Among the alternatives, Mika Godts stands out. The Belgian talent offers quality, potential and impressive numbers, having scored 21 goals and provided 12 assists in the Dutch league last season.
Andreas Schjelderup of Benfica and Ibrahim Mbaye of Paris Saint-Germain are also profiles Roma admire. They may be less ready than the first-choice names, but both have significant talent and room to develop.
