Zaniolo and Mazraoui linked with AC Milan: where Milan stand on both players

Two players have emerged as AC Milan targets in recent days: Noussair Mazraoui as a full-back option - a right-footed player who can operate on either side - and Nicolò Zaniolo, the Italian attacking midfielder whose future at Udinese remains uncertain. According to sources around Via Aldo Rossi, however, both situations need to be put into context.

Rúben Amorim is known to be a big admirer of Mazraoui. His comments from December 2024 make that clear. “He is a top-level player. He understands the game. He knows how to attack, he is very technical, he is very good defensively and very strong in one-on-one situations. He is a modern player. I think he is the future of our team. When you think about him, you realise that we need more players like Nous, players who can control the tempo, who are really good and comfortable on the ball. So I am really happy with Nous.”

Mazraoui, however, is not currently a priority for Milan. The Rossoneri are not as convinced by him, particularly because of concerns over his inconsistency, both technically and physically.

Zaniolo
Zaniolo was offered to Milan during agent Claudio Vigorelli’s recent visit to Casa Milan, but the idea has not gained much traction among Milan’s decision-makers. Udinese, meanwhile, will do everything they can to keep him in Friuli. “The parties are talking, so right now we need to be patient a little longer because no wall has been put up. There is an ongoing dialogue, so at this stage it is better not to comment further in order to avoid speculation of any kind. Let the parties involved work calmly. I believe that in the end a positive solution can be reached, and I hope fairly quickly too.”

Zaniolo, like Mazraoui, is therefore unlikely to become a Milan player.
