Lucas Perri says yes to Torino as agreement reached with goalkeeper - now Leeds must decide
Torino are still searching for the goalkeeper who will start next season as their No 1. In Pinzolo, Ignazio Abate is currently working with a group made up of Paleari, Mascardi and several Primavera players, but the club’s future first-choice keeper has yet to arrive.
Sporting director Gianluca Petrachi sees the position as an absolute priority after a difficult season marked by rotation between Israel and Paleari. The aim is to bring in a goalkeeper capable of offering reliability and consistency, avoiding a repeat of the problems seen last term.
Lucas Perri has already said yes
The leading name on Torino’s list remains Lucas Perri. According to Tuttosport, the Brazilian goalkeeper has already made it clear he is willing to move to Serie A and has reached a broad agreement with Torino. The issue now is Leeds United, who own his registration. The English club are assessing their goalkeeping department after Karl Darlow’s departure and have not yet decided whether to rely on Perri again or enter the market for another goalkeeper. Only once Leeds have clarified their plans will they decide whether to open the door to the Brazilian’s departure. For now, Torino are waiting for developments.
The alternatives Petrachi has considered
Petrachi has also looked at several alternatives in recent months. Among them are Federico Ravaglia, with whom no agreement was reached with Bologna, Orlando Gill, whose value has risen after his impressive performances for Paraguay at the World Cup, and Dominik Livaković, who was already being monitored before the tournament but would be a complicated deal to complete.
Whoever Torino eventually choose, the arrival of a new No 1 will reshape the pecking order. Mascardi is expected to become the second-choice goalkeeper, while Paleari would start as the third option.
