Inter Milan, the reigning Serie A champions, fell 3-1 to Lazio on Saturday, resulting in their first Serie A defeat of the season and a lengthy delay after being incensed by a Felipe Anderson goal.

Inter players were unhappy that Lazio had not stopped play owing to Federico Dimarco's injury, so Anderson tapped home a rebound in the 81st minute to put the hosts 2-1 ahead at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio, on the other hand, had no responsibility to stop, and Dimarco had already fallen to the ground before Inter resumed their onslaught.

Five yellow cards were issued as a result of the away team's complaints, which caused play to be halted for several minutes, with visiting full-back Denzel Dumfries maybe lucky to only receive one.

Simone Inzaghi, who left Lazio in the off-season to replace Antonio Conte at Inter, had a dismal return to the city.
