AC Milan beware: New York City ready to tempt Pulisic with five-year, $10m-a-season offer
With their executive structure now in place, AC Milan are working at full speed to make up for lost time and give Ruben Amorim his first reinforcements ahead of next season.
At this early stage of the transfer window, the Rossoneri’s efforts are focused above all on attack, where the preferred target appears to be Gonçalo Ramos of Paris Saint-Germain.
Acting on Amorim’s instructions, Milan’s recruitment team have opened initial talks with Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, as well as with the Parisian club, who own his registration. PSG would want no less than €50m to let him go — a steep figure for a side who will not even be playing in the Champions League.
Milan, however, are not only focused on incomings. They must also be alert to offers that could arrive for their own players.
In that regard, Corriere dello Sport reports that there is growing belief in the United States that New York City FC could make a serious attempt to tempt Christian Pulisic with a major proposal: $10m per season over five years.
For their part, Milan have no intention of losing a player who is crucial both tactically and commercially. Yet no formal renewal offer has been made so far, and the risk is that Captain America could become another long-running saga, after the one involving Rafael Leão.
