Frattesi sale could fund Jones move as Inter plot route to Liverpool midfielder
Inter Milan are preparing for movement in the transfer market. The Nerazzurri, reigning Italian champions, are looking for players who can help Cristian Chivu raise the level of the squad next season. The aim is clear: defend the Serie A title, but above all make a stronger statement in the Champions League after the disappointment of last season’s elimination by Bodø/Glimt.
In midfield, it is no secret that Inter are trying to find a way to Curtis Jones of Liverpool FC. New Reds head coach Andoni Iraola has different ideas for the way he wants his team to play, and the 25-year-old Englishman could be made available.
From Liverpool’s perspective, Jones would be more of a sale designed to raise funds for reinvestment than a player they are actively pushing out. The asking price from England is understood to be around €30m.
Inter, for their part, could look to finance the move through a departure of their own. One of the players who could leave remains Davide Frattesi. The former US Sassuolo midfielder is admired by Nottingham Forest, who, according to today’s edition of Tuttosport, are ready to offer €25m plus bonuses.
Inter value Frattesi at no less than €30m - the same figure Liverpool are asking for Jones. In that scenario, a sale could effectively pay for an incoming deal, giving the Nerazzurri the funds they need to unlock their market.
