Marco Palestra to Inter could become the ninth-most expensive full-back deal of all time
Marco Palestra could become one of the most expensive full-backs in football history. The Atalanta BC wide player is a major target for Inter Milan, with the two clubs in talks over a fee above €50m. The deal is likely to be completed at around €53m, bonuses included.
If that happens, Palestra would overtake Riccardo Calafiori — signed by Arsenal from Bologna FC 1909 for €44m plus bonuses in 2024 — as the most expensive Italian full-back or wide defender of all time.
He would also become the most expensive Serie A signing ever in that role, beating Achraf Hakimi, for whom Inter paid Real Madrid €43m. More significantly, he would break into the global top 10 and could rival Kyle Walker for ninth place.
