OFFICIAL: Rúben Amorim appointed AC Milan head coach: “I know what this club represents”
With an official statement, AC Milan have confirmed their choice for the Rossoneri bench. Rúben Amorim will succeed Massimiliano Allegri after a disappointing season that led to a complete technical reset at the club.
AC Milan announce that they have entrusted the technical leadership of the men’s First Team to Rúben Amorim. Amorim began his coaching career in 2018, after ending his playing career, during which he represented Belenenses and Benfica, as well as the Portugal national team. After his first experiences in the dugout with Casa Pia and Braga, he took charge of Sporting CP in 2020, beginning a cycle defined by a strong playing identity, innovation and player development. That journey brought tangible results: two Portuguese league titles, two League Cups and one Super Cup.
Before joining Milan, he held the role of Manchester United manager. Over the course of his career, Amorim has developed a modern, attacking tactical approach, underpinned by solid organisation, showing a particular ability to develop young talent and guide players through their growth.
