Second-placed Borussia Dortmund cut Bayern Munich's Bundesliga lead to a single point with a 2-1 home victory against Stuttgart on Saturday, thanks to Marco Reus' late winner.

Dortmund's Dutch striker Donyell Malen scored his first Bundesliga goal since joining from PSV Eindhoven in the summer, but Stuttgart produced a defensive blunder that allowed Roberto Massimo to equalize.

Dortmund counter-attacked from their own box with time running short, and Reus tapped into an empty net to clinch victory after Bayern lost 2-1 to struggling Augsburg on Friday.

In a fortnight, Dortmund will face Bayern in a potential top-of-the-table duel.

Bayern's loss to Augsburg was only their third in all competitions this season, but Julian Nagelsmann revealed for the first time as coach that he was "very unhappy" following a terrible first-half effort.
