As reported by Mediotiempo, Chivas de Guadalajara would be in search of a new forward to add to the squad for the coming Clausura tournament. El Rebano was just knocked out of the Apertura by Pachuca, who exposed Chivas' many weaknesses, showcased all throughout this tournament. One of these weaknesses was certainly in the scoring department, as the Guadalajara side was only able to score 21 goals in 17 matches. The young talent JJ Macias underperformed and it was often evident how Chivas lacked a proper replacement or another option, as veteran Oribe Peralta was not up to the task.

In this respect, Technical Director Ricardo Pelaez and his team have identified a possible transfer target in young striker VLADIMIR MORAGREGA. Moragrega, of just 22 years of age, is a promising young talent who fits the Chivas recruitment philosophy perfectly. He currently plays for ATLANTE, and scored six goals in this past campaign. He also played for Dorados de Sinaloa, Xolos Premier, Alebrijes de Oaxaca and Murcielagos de Los Mochis, all in the Mexican  second division. Current Chivas manager was just assured of his job after the disappointing campaign, and has expressed interest in Moragrega. Chivas could definitely use the services of the young striker, as well as at least a couple of more new faces in the team, as owner Amaury Vergara is still chasing that elusive first Championship for Chivas since he took the reins of the Club and proceeded to bring in Ricardo Pelaez, who previosly helped rival Club America in their winning ways. We'll see if Moragrega can be a step in the right direction, as the Mexican transfer window gets nearer.
