The 34-year-old Belgian player refused a renewal offer presented to him by his current club, Guangzhou City: "Thank you for all the nice messages I have received," he wrote on social media. "To clarify, I haven't quit yet. I still have a one-year contract left, but I can already share the news that I will stop my career at the end of this year."
