LIGA MX - Tigres UANL interested in Ecuadorian striker Renato Ibarra
In what has been one of the more persistent rumor mills of this transfer window, Ecuadorian striker Renato Ibarra has been linked to multiple Mexican clubs.
Ibarra, whose playing rights belong to Club America, will not return to the Aguilas next season, so much so that he has been denied use of America's training infrastructure due to some legal trouble he is going through connected to domestic abuse charges. The Ecuadorian played with Atlas last season, but the Guadalajara club decided to not exercise the option to buy in his contract, and now America are trying to find a club willing to get Ibarra on a permanent deal.
The latest club linked to the player seems to be Tigres UANL, with skipper Miguel Herrera who knows the striker well, having already coached him while el Piojo was with America. We'll wait and see how the Ibarra situation evolves, with the circumstances resembling more and more a Mexican telenovela.
