MAN CITY, Aguero might be replaced from within
Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero scored 258 goals for Manchester City in the last ten seasons and is set to leave the club in a matter of weeks, but club manager Pep Guardiola isn't worried about how to replace him in the upcoming transfer window.
Money and appeal certainly aren't a problem for Guardiola to prey a top scorer from another team, but the catalan mastermind instead of offering top money for yet another star might very well stay put, thinking he already has a top striker in Ferran Torres. The spanish, 21, arrived at the club as a winger but was converted to central striker this season, and early returns are positive for the youngster, who scored 13 goals in all competitions this season, including a hat trick for Spain in a Nations League match against Germany.
Just last night, Torres scored a hat trick against Newcastle, and Guardiola was obviously pleased. "He came as a winger but I really have to think of him as a striker", he said commenting Torres' performance.
So maybe, when it's all said and done, Guardiola won't have to spend top money for a new striker, but he'll just trust Torres, and his own instincts.
