As announced on the club's website and Twitter account, A.C. Milan officially acquired Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid.

Diaz comes back to Serie A on a two-year loan deal, as specified by the rossoneri with a short note:  "AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Brahim Abdelkader Díaz from Real Madrid CF on a temporary basis for two years. The contract ties the football player to the Rossoneri Club until 30 June 2023. Brahim, after scoring 7 goals in 39 appearances with AC Milan last season, will continue to be a Rossoneri player, wearing the number 10 jersey." According to multiple reports, the deal includes a 3M Euros fee for the loan and a buy option set at 22M Euros, which is surprising, given how it was first believed that it would be a simple loan with no option to buy clause.

The young Spaniard always showed his will to come back to Milan, as he became an important piece of Pioli's success last year as the season went on. Milan now hope he can contribute even more this season and be a strong option for the rossoneri trequartista role, after the departure of Hakan Cahlanoglu to rivals Inter.
