In a video conference earlier today, Pumas Sporting President Jesus Ramirez and President Jesus Silva announced the club has signed Italo-Argentinian midfielder Cristian Battocchio for the upcoming Apertura 2021.

Battocchio arrives as Juan Pablo Vigon's replacement, as declared by Ramirez. "As Vigon left, we immediately thought of someone like him. He's a great passer of the ball, he' ll have no problem quickly adapting to (manager) Andres Lillini scheme. He'll definitely help us." "He's got experience in Italy, England, Israel and France" added Silva.

He will wear number 22 for Pumas and signed a one-year deal with the club. For his part the young midfielder said that "I've always wanted to come here, I always had an interest to and I thank Pumas they let me be here." He came out of Udinese's youth sector before going to Watford, who is owned by the same Pozzo family that also owns the Italian club. He then played in France with Brest, Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Japan with Tokushima Vortis.
