Spanish striker Ian Gonzalez joins Toluca
As announced on a tweet on Wednesday on their official Twitter account, Toluca have signed Spanish striker Ian Gonzalez for the upcoming Apertura 2021 tournament.
Gonzalez joins the Diablos Rojos from Atletico San Luis, even though he was on loan with Necaxa this past season. He now becomes Toluca's second signing, after Felipe Pardo was announce last week as a new acquisition from Pachuca. The Spaniard played in 16 games for Necaxa this past season, but was only able to score 3 goals, as he hopes that this new adventure with Toluca can help him bring better performances.
He spent time in La Macia in 2011-2012 as a young promise, and was later signed to play for Atletico de Madrid youth sector; he made his professional debut with Getafe B and later Getafe's senior squad in 2015-2016, and also played for lower spanish division side Sabadell and Deportivo Linares before coming to Mexico to Atletico San Luis.
