As revealed by Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray, the clubs is on the trail for Southampton forward Michael Obafemi.

"It’s something that’s been mooted, those sort of things become personal to the point the boy wants to make that move, his advisors have to see it as an opportunity.” admitted Mowbray in a press conference. The 21-year old Irish international was once thought of as a rising star, but a series of injuries have relegated him to a back-up spot at Southampton. A change of scenery could be just what the doctor orders for Obafemi to revive his career, as he's only played a total of 38 matches for Southampton, scoring just 5 goals. Also, this move could be one corresponding with the Adam Armstrong one, that saw the former Blackburn forward move to Southampton, leaving the club on the lookout for a new forward.

It seems the deal is just a matter of finding an agreement on the transfer fee, as Southampton seem inclined to letting Obafemi leave to Blackburn. We'll see if this once promising talent will finally make the move and shine new light on his career.
