As revealed by British outlet The Daily Mail, Manchester City seem to be pressing to bring Jack Grealish in from Aston Villa in this transfer window.

Now, it looks like the Citizens are ready to make an astonishing opening bid for the midfielder: 75M GBP. This is still far off from what Villa is asking for, as the club will reportedly only agree to sell the player if they receive an offer in the neighborhood of a would-be record 100M GBP. Villa have no plans to sell the English international, and have offered him a new contract worth 7,8M a year to convince him to stay.

Grealish, however seems to be pushing hard for a move to Manchester, where he would have a chance to play with one of his favorite players, Kevin De Bruyne. Aston Villa have been busy this transfer window, signing players like highly-touted Argentine talent Emi Buendia, in their bid to a Champions League spot, but if Grealish leaves it would be a massive blow for them, so they will want to be well compensated in order to be able to replace him.
