According to L'Équipe, Lyon's administration is aiming to make signings in the coming window, ahead of a winter season that will see a number of players depart for the African Cup of Nations, as well as the Europa League knockout stages.

Lyon have already qualified for the final 16 of the competition after winning their fourth game in a row on Thursday, while Karl Toko-Ekambi, Islam Slimani, and Tino Kadawere will miss the new year.

Sardar Azmoun, an Iran striker, was a target for Les Gones earlier this summer before Zenit Saint-Petersburg elected to maintain their forward, who is out of contract in June.

Lyon has reportedly identified Mexican winger Jess Corona of Porto as another player whose contract is about to expire. Representatives for the right-sided player traveled to Lyon this week to begin talks, with both manager Peter Bosz and director Juninho showing interest. Milan, on the other hand, have made the Mexican international a priority signing, potentially jeopardizing Lyon's hopes to recruit him, with the Serie A club in contact.
