Ahead of the winter transfer window, MLS teams are paying attention to the region's finest players. Minnesota United FC has made Kervin Arriaga, a Honduran international midfielder, a transfer target, according to Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press.

In his home Honduras, Arriaga, 23, plays for Marathon. The tall defensive midfielder began his career at Platense and has played for both clubs in the domestic league. He's carved out a place for himself with the Honduran national team, featuring in all five of the club's WCQs thus far, four of which have been starts.

Wil Trapp, Hassani Dotson, Osvaldo Alonso, Jan Gregus, and others make up MNUFC's deep midfield group. They are presently ranked eighth in the Western Conference, and are in the thick of a playoff chase that should go down to the wire with six regular-season games remaining.
