Nico Gonzalez 'very close' to Fiorentina

In what would be a very strange turn of events, now Fiorentina seem to be very close to signing Argentinian midfielder Nico Gonzalez, according to a rumor by Sky Sports Germany journalist Max Bielefeld.

According to the report, the Stuttgart midfielder would sign with la Viola for a 23M Euro transfer fee plus 4M Euros in potential bonuses. Just last week it was English side Brighton who seemed to be closest to acquiring the player, but in an ironic twist it is now Fiorentina who looks like will end up signing Gonzalez, a club that just saw its now former manager Gennaro Gattuso leave Florence due to a lack of new transfers completed by the gigliati.
