After months of discussions, the Spanish forward has finally committed his long-term future to the Blaugrana.

Ansu Fati has agreed to a new five-and-a-half-year contract with Barcelona, which has a €1 billion (£846 million/$1.16 billion) release clause, according to the Catalan club.

The 18-year-old has committed to staying at Camp Nou until 2027, putting an end to recent rumors about his future.

Barca apparently had the chance to extend Ansu's contract for another two years but instead chose to ensure that he stays with the club indefinitely.

The young striker has recently been linked with a number of other major teams around Europe, including Premier League champions Manchester City, but has chosen to stay at Camp Nou to complete his development.

Fati has now made 47 appearances for Barca in all competitions since making his senior debut in August of this year.

The Spain international has 15 goals to his credit, the most recent of which came in a 3-1 win over Valencia on Sunday, which was his first Liga start since returning from a 10-month injury layoff.
