LIGA - FC Barcelona striker Aguero to hospital with heart problems
FC Barcelona striker Sergio Agüero (33) was already taken off on Saturday evening in the first half against Deportivo Alavés. The Argentine striker was struggling with heart problems and immediately went to the hospital for an examination. Respiratory problems caused the player to become dizzy, which would come from the heart.
FC Barcelona coach Sergi Barjuan announced this after the game with Deportivo Alavés. That reading is also confirmed in the statement of the Catalan club. It says that Agüero had 'chest pain' and had to be replaced as a result. There was a stretcher ready for the Argentinian, but in the end he was able to leave the field independently. Philippe Coutinho came in for him.
The heart rate would also have been much higher than normal during intense exercise. If they don't know the cause of the tightness in the chest, it could be that Agüero is out for a little longer. A diagnosis from the hospital has not yet been shared by the club or the attacker. Gerard Pique also dropped out during the match: he had problems with his calf and will normally not play against Dinamo Kiev.
Aguero was also sidelined for the first months after his arrival at FC Barcelona due to injuries, but was kicking off for the first time against Rayo Vallecano. Against Real Madrid, he scored the only goal in his five appearances for the Catalans as a substitute, starting only in the last two games as a starting player.
