LIGA MX - Carlos Salcedo and Luis Rodriguez rejoin Tigres
Tigres UANL is getting back two important players today, as both center-back Carlos Salcedo and fullback Luis Rodriguez rejoined Tigres in Monterrey for practice, the team announced through their Twitter account.
Salcedo and Rodriguez were a part of the Mexican National team that participated in the Gold Cup, losing the final to the United States 1-0 in heartbreaking fashion. While Rodriguez received ample praise for his performances down the flank, Salcedo was the target of many critics, who pointed out his many mistakes while on the field, compounded by a penalty kick miss against Canada in the semifinals. He came in as a substitute in the final, as Hector Moreno's injury forced Martino to put him in.
However, Tigres fans applauded his return, as he said he has a small physycal problem that shouldn't be of too much concern. Manager Miguel Herrera will now have to decide whether to put them in his starting eleven right away or wait until Matchday 4 and not risk possible injuries, given how they haven't had any time to rest after the Gold Cup.
