Chivas continues its preparations for the upcoming Apertura tournament, and in doing so could look at certain players from their youth Academy to reinforce the squad for next season, given how President and owner Amaury Vergara seems keen to adopt a cost-containing strategy for the forseeable future, after the pandemic hit Chivas' finances hard. By looking at their cantera, Guadalajara would try to find elements with sufficient quality to play in the first team while not having to spend in transfer fees, therefore containing costs. Since Chivas is traditionally barred from signing foreign players to their squad, finding quality elements outside of the organization often means other clubs can use this restriction as leverage to raise prices, making it difficult to reconcile this fact with a cost-cutting strategy.

One of the first names on the list to join the senior squad is that of Pavel Perez, who played in the second division on loan with Tepatitlan FC winning the league and helping the team with outstanding performances. Another profile is that of Jesus Godinez, who could give new life to the rojiblancos attack. Godinez played with Leon on loan this past season, and has shown promising flashes. Finally, Benjamin Galindo Jr. could come back, after having spent the last few seasons at Pachuca and in the United States.
