In a new report by Mexican sports outlet Mediotiempo.com, it looks like a former Chivas midfielder is set to return to action on the pitch after a prolonged absence.

In fact, Dieter Villalpando is set to become a new Puebla player, according to a statement by La Franja manager Nicolas Larcamon, who said: "Dieter is a player we decided to add to our squad, he met expectations, we feel he can contribute after Daniel Aguilar's injury that left us with few choices in the midfield".

Villalpando will then come in and hopefully give some continuity to Puebla's middle of the pitch; he will have to get up to speed quickly, as he hasn't played since his departure from Chivas in 2020 due to a legal matter concerning domestic abuse. He was one of Chivas most promising buys at one point, but his time with El Rebano Sagrado was cut short. We will see if he can revert his fortunes at Puebla, in what could be the biggest chance to revive his career.
