FC Cincinnati announced on Monday that Chris Albright has been named general manager. The hiring goes into effect right away.

Albright comes following a successful stint as technical director for the Philadelphia Union under sports director Ernst Tanner. He oversaw the development, integration, and ultimate transfer of homegrown talents Brenden Aaronson and Mark McKenzie, as well as helping to create the club's Supporters' Shield-winning 2020 team. Following spending his final seasons in Philadelphia, where he retired after the 2013 season, he joined the front office in 2014.

“Our search for our next general manager was extensive,” FCC president Jeff Berding said in a club statement. “Our new GM was going to be someone who knew what was required to win in Major League Soccer, experience that was non-negotiable. Delivering on that requirement, we are delighted to have found the best person for the job.”
