MLS - Landon Donovan's statue unveiled by LA Galaxy

During his illustrious career, Landon Donovan left an everlasting imprint on Major League Soccer, particularly the LA Galaxy.

And before the current edition of El Trafico on Sunday, the club paid tribute to the icon by erecting the Landon Donovan Statue in Legends Plaza at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Donovan was also honored into the Galaxy's Ring of Honor, and a Donovan mural was erected at Bonita Street Elementary School.

On the dais for the hour-long event were former Galaxy teammates and MLS Commissioner Don Garber.

“Every time I came here, I tried to give more than I was taking," Donovan said. "I tried to give everything to this club because that’s what I wanted to do, I was appreciative and grateful that I had this opportunity. I hope you guys felt that. I always wanted to give more than I took.”
