In a joint press conference this Wednesday, MLS Commissioner Don Garber and Liga MX president Mikel Arriola officially unveiled the new All-Star game to be played starting this season between two teams where the best players from each league will be selected and will face off every year starting in 2021.

Garber announced that the MLS side will be put together by manager Bob Bradley, while Arriola declared that the Liga MX side will have to be voted on during the Mexican Ballon D'Or ceremony. In this regard he added that " We are convinced that Liga MX has a much greater potential for growth than what is happening right now, we want to be able to expand like MLS is doing and that means investing more in the teams". He concluded by saying that the All-Star Game is proof of further integration between the two leagues and that it is something new and exciting for Mexican football.

The All-Star game will be played on August 25, 2021 in Bank of California Stadium, LAFC's home turf.
