MLS - Rob Valentino on his final game in charge before Pineda takeover

Atlanta United vs Toronto FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday evening will be Rob Valentino’s final game in charge of the club before Gonzalo Pineda’s scheduled takeover. He will remain on Pineda’s staff as an assistant.

Atlanta is 2W-2L-2D and unbeaten in their past three games since Valentino took over following Gabriel Heinze's departure, including back-to-back victories.

“Because I'm still here, I won't miss anything. I don't see it that way either. Then there's the other issue. Yes, I get to be the one in front of them, and I get to stand up there with them. That's fantastic,” Valentino said. “But, as I've always said, we're all in this together, and it won't just be me or them. So I'm not going to claim 'That was you people, not me' if things go wrong at any time in the game or if things might have gone differently. 'I didn't have anything to do with it.' It's not all on me or vice versa. “It's all of us.”
