MLS - Rossi's overseas venture off to a roaring start at Fenerbahce
Diego Rossi's international career is off to a flying start, as the Uruguayan forward added another goal to his total for Fenerbahce of Turkey on Sunday.
Rossi scored the goal in the second minute of Fenerbahce's league encounter against Trabzonspor, pouncing on a loose ball in the box and curling in a perfect finish to the far post. Rossi joined Fenerbahce on loan in September after a spectacular run with LAFC.
Goals like this are nothing new to LAFC supporters, who have seen Rossi score numerous similar opportunistic goals during his stint in the league. Rossi joined LAFC prior to the club's 2018 expansion season and quickly established himself as one of the league's best prolific statsheet-stuffing strikers, scoring 16 goals in the club's record-breaking Supporters' Shield season of 2019. Rossi won the Golden Boot awarded by Audi the next year after scoring 14 goals in 19 games.
Rossi concluded his MLS career with 48 goals and 21 assists in 104 appearances, prompting transfer rumors that led to his move to the Turkish top flight.
