Following the club's official statement that Cristiano Ronaldo will be re-signed, Patrice Evra, a former Manchester United full-back, has shared what looks to be a WhatsApp chat between himself and the Portuguese superstar.

Evra, who is now retired, was a former teammate of Ronaldo's at Old Trafford, where the two won a slew of trophies, including the Champions League in 2008.

However, with the Frenchman no longer playing and Ronaldo still going strong, fans have been given a glimpse into what the two talked about earlier that day.

After early rumors claimed Ronaldo was close to joining the Red Devils' fierce rivals Manchester City, supporters have been left stunned to hear the red half of Manchester had pipped their rivals to the superstar's signing.


Evra has shared a screenshot on Twitter that purports to show Ronaldo alerting his former teammate that he was going to join their old club several hours before it was officially revealed.
