Lionel Messi has dominated the headlines this summer. The Argentine's future has been unknown since the season's last game, with his contract ending when he was leading Argentina to their first major trophy since 1993.
He made headlines in early August when he shockingly left Barcelona, his lifelong club, for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
Wherever Messi creates headlines, a certain Cristiano Ronaldo is never far behind. And so it was this week. The Portuguese – who had a wonderful summer himself, earning the Golden Boot as Portugal advanced to the final 16 of Euro 2020 – has left Juventus for his former club Manchester United for a fee in the region of €30 million.
Cristiano is two years older than Messi and is no longer as intimidating a prospect. Nonetheless, it caused a stir.

It was at 12.5m late on Saturday evening, which was an incredible feat.
