Milan appear to have taken Max Allegri’s repeated warnings about the lack of attacking options very seriously. After the arrival of Niclas Füllkrug, already at Milanello and just awaiting registration and official confirmation, and progress made with Partizan Belgrade for highly rated youngster Andrej Kostić, often described as the “new Vlahović”, the Rossoneri are now ready to push ahead on another front.

The latest name is a young, internationally minded prospect: Sidiki Chérif, a 19-year-old French striker born in 2006 who currently plays for Angers. According to La Repubblica, Milan have already opened talks with the Ligue 1 club for Chérif, who would cost around €7m and is seen by the Rossoneri as a back-up option for Christian Pulisic.

In the opening months of the season with Angers, Chérif has made 16 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring four goals. That works out at a goal every 247 minutes, hardly insignificant numbers for a forward who has yet to turn 20.
