In a 4-0 thrashing of Hoffenheim at home on Saturday, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski made his case for the Ballon d'Or by scoring his 10th Bundesliga goal in nine games this season.

Lewandowski has continued where he left off last season, scoring a Bundesliga-high 41 goals.

After Serge Gnabry gave the hosts a first-half lead in front of 60,000 supporters at the Allianz Arena, Lewandowski scored with a magnificent strike.

Replacements Eric Bayern Munich maintained their one-point lead over Borussia Dortmund, who won 3-1 at Arminia Bielefeld, with late goals from Maxim Choupo-Moting and Kingsley Coman.

Even though head coach Julian Nagelsmann was quarantined at home after testing positive for Covid-19, Bayern dominated.

After being named FIFA's best male player of 2020, the Poland striker is among the favorites to win the Ballon d'Or on November 29.
