After a horrible night in Lisbon, Borussia Dortmund was eliminated from the Champions League.
After a long kick upfield, Pedro Gonçalves took advantage of some careless defense by Nico Schulz to poke home past Gregor Kobel to put Sporting ahead, before adding a second with an arrowed effort into the top corner from 25 yards.
The visitors' night was then made even worse when Emre Can was sent off for violent conduct, and Dan-Axel Zagadou gave away a penalty.
Gonçalves took the penalty kick to complete his hat-trick, but his shot was saved by Pedro Porro, who reacted quickly to head in the rebound. Marco Rose's side got a late consolation goal from Donyell Malen.
It's the first time Dortmund has failed to get past the group stage since the 2017/18 season.
