Hertha Berlin has stated that players and backroom personnel who refuse to be vaccinated will be required to pay for their own Covid-19 testing in the future.

Players and employees who decline the coronavirus vaccine will eventually have to pay for their own PCR testing, which costs approximately 70 euros ($80) each time, according to a club official.

Players are required to undergo a PCR test twice a week under German Football League (DFL) guidelines, however Hertha had its staff tested six times a week.

Hertha Berlin's sports director, Fredi Bobic, told German newspaper Bild that "90 percent" of the team's players and personnel have been vaccinated.

According to reports, 82 percent of all Bundesliga players have been vaccinated.

Due to coronavirus epidemics, the Hertha squad has already been quarantined twice this year.

Hertha Berlin has had a difficult start to the Bundesliga season, having lost five of their first seven games.
