Erling Haaland, the standout striker for Borussia Dortmund, will be out for "many weeks" due to a hip flexor injury, according to coach Marco Rose.
Dortmund were defeated 4-0 by Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday, and the 21-year-old Norwegian played the full encounter.
"Time to focus on my injury. I will be back stronger," tweeted Haaland alongside a photo of himself clapping the public.
The loss of Haaland is a setback for Dortmund, who are presently second in the Bundesliga, one point behind Bayern Munich.
The Norwegian has already scored nine goals this season, putting him in a tie for first place in the league with Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski.
