BUNDES - Ingvartsen is looking forward to being a striker
Marcus Ingvartsen justifies his move to Mainz 05, among other things, with the possibility of finally being set up in the attack again. As the offensive player tells the club's own media, "it was first and foremost about being able to play a striker here". The loan from Union Berlin to Rheinhessen was therefore easy for Ingvartsen: "It was not a difficult decision when the request came from Mainz."
By playing in his favorite position, Ingvartsen also wants to position himself for the national team. “Playing the World Cup is a dream. I think I can recommend myself better as a striker than as a midfielder, ”explains the 25-year-old. Ingvartsen sees himself in the best of hands in the storm, “because my degree is one of my greatest strengths” *, says the left-footed man. Ingvartsen proved this against TSG Hoffenheim (2-0) 78 seconds after his substitution with a joker goal.
