BUNDES - Marco Rose: “Playing for a draw is not an option.”
Speaking ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s crucial Champions League clash against Sporting CP, head coach Marco Rose stated that anything less than a win isn’t an option for the Bundesliga side.
“Playing for a draw is not an option. That won’t work. So we’ll play for the win, like we always do. We’ve got a game plan, we’ve played the opponent before and beaten them and we’ve also watched them again,” said Rose.
Should Borussia Dortmund lose, they will almost be eliminated from the competition and if they lose by one goal, they have a slim chance of advancing to the knockout stages. A win would see them through to the last 16.
Mats Hummels and Thorgan Hazard both featured in Borussia Dortmund’s win against Stuttgart on Saturday but both are unavailable for Wednesday night’s fixture.
