Still quarantined due to having tested positive to Covid-19, RB Leipzig boss, Jesse Marsch, through his latest virtual press conference, stated:

"Their biggest strength is their play on the break, as was the case with Leverkusen. We need to defend better in these scenarios and press them well. They’ve been doing amazing work at the club for years now and in Urs Fischer, they have an experienced coach on the touchline too.

I apologised to Brian Brobbey after the game. The timing of his substitution wasn’t perfect and we should have waited until half time. There was a slight delay due to the connection. Brian wasn’t the only one who wasn’t in the game though. We played into Leverkusen’s hands. We had too much of the ball, didn’t press them enough and defended badly when they were on the counter. After the break, we made some changes and improved in my opinion, though it wasn’t enough.

One big issue for us is our consistency. We play like a real top team in our good performances, but in our bad ones we’re failing to get a proper grip on the game. Every match is a new challenge. We have to be prepared to put in a disciplined performance. On top of that, we will have to be fully focused, show the right mentality and fight hard on the pitch.

Marco Kurth is definitely ready to support the team tomorrow if that is required. He’s been at the club for a while and knows what we want to do on the pitch. I really value the work our coaching team does. Marco is 100% capable of being in charge on Friday”.
