SERIE A – Dutch legend comments on his country’s prodigies

Legendary Milan midfielder Ruud Gullit was in Italy for the Giacinto Facchetti award ceremony and took his time out speaking to Sky Sports Italia about two of his nation’s talents who are currently plying their trade in Italy.

On Matthjs De Ligt: “He grew up in Ajax, and he never felt any pressure when he was young. It’s different in Netherlands and Italy. Now he plays alongside the best defenders in the world. He is adjusting. I think he is too frantic right now. When he calms down, he will become a great centre-back.”

On Denzel Dumfries: “He has a big heart and gives everything in all matches. He has become a key player for the Dutch national team, like Stefan De Vrij. They finally noticed them.”
