OFFICIAL - CF Montréal's Mason Toye signs contract extension
Mason Toye has extended his contract with CF Montréal for another three years, until 2024, according to the team's announcement on Saturday. The agreement also contains a 2025 option year.
The 22-year-old has seven goals in 14 games (10 starts) for CF Montréal this season, despite injuring his right shoulder in last weekend's home game against the New York Red Bulls. As a result, he'll have surgery on Tuesday and will be out for "many months.
“Despite this injury and the surgery that will keep him away for several months, the club is showing its confidence in him with this contract extension, We wish him a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the pitch”, CF Montréal sporting director Olivier Renard said in a release.
