Barcelona could look to swoop for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial in the summer transfer window of 2022, according to a recent report from Footy Extras.

The Frenchman has fallen further down the pecking order at Old Trafford with the re-signing of the Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo and has been tipped to end his Manchester United stint in the near future.

Martial allegedly rejected the opportunity to join Lyon on transfer deadline day in August, but his opportunities under the Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season are expected to be few and far between.

According to a report from Eurosport, the former Monaco ace is on the radar of Blaugrana amid their attacking crisis, and United are prepared to let the £40m-rated star leave in January for the right price.

However, the report adds that Anthony’s £250,000-a-week salary could present a roadblock in talks with clubs elsewhere.

But the 25-year-old attacker will be ready to seek pastures new if he cannot force his way into the starting XI on a regular basis.
