Turning 23 on April 27, Argentinian centre-back Cristian Romero, playing for Atalanta since early September, told Corriere dello Sport: "My agent was in talks with Fiorentina indeed. Of course, I'm still on a parent-club deal with Juventus, but I'm really happy playing for Atalanta. Prandelli's farewell affected me a lot. I worked under him at Genoa, and I know him as the wonderful person he is. However, though Viola were after him, I mostly chose Atalanta because of Gasperini, and, about seven months later, I can say I made the right choice. Facing Bianconeri won't be anything new. I'm grateful to the club for having purchased me back then, but I'm only focused on La Dea last nine games".
